African Wildlife

Part One

Within minutes of landing in the bushlands of Kenya, I knew that I had made a mistake. My mistake was that it took so long to visit this amazing country. The airplane that brought me to this incredible place had to wait for the Giraffes to be cleared from the landing strip before he could even take off. And that is how my first visit started and continued until the day I left. Finding incredible wildlife photography opportunities around every corner and over every hill was almost routine. Capturing moments with herds of Elephants in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro, Lion prides with full bellies after feeding on a recent kill or grasslands full of Zebra, Topi, Wildebeest and Gazelles as we rode through the bush. Giraffes stretching their long necks to reach the top of the Acacia trees to find the most tender leaves. A Black Rhinoceros looking up between grazing on twigs as if he was trying to decide whether we were too close, thankfully he decided we were not. It didn’t take long before I knew that I would return some day.  And return I did.
